Sr Accountant - Regulatory Accounting

This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of regulatory accounting and reporting at UGI Utilities including rate case support and process improvement.


Principal Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for the regulatory reporting process to include the review of the FERC Form 1 and PUC Annual Reports    
  • Responsible for the regulatory accounting process to include review of journal entries and account reconciliations for regulatory assts & liabilities. 
  • Complete & Supervise the Completion of Technical Memorandums as needed
  • Perform SOX controls and provide support for internal and external audits.
  • Ownership of the Accounting Department deliverables for the rate case filing process including end to end process evaluation and improvement. 
  • Responsible for the preparation and review of rate case data requests.
  • Ownership of the Finreg module in SAP – Which determines the FERC account assignment for all General Ledger transactions and generates regulatory reporting.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of GAAP including technical accounting principles
  • Knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley 404 requirements and ability to perform key controls over financial reporting
  • Strong analytical skills as well as written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to identify solutions to nonstandard requests; good judgment and decision-making ability
  • Good organizational skills with an ability to juggle multiple tasks to effectively achieve results
  • Commitment to meeting deadlines while adhering to a high level of attention to detail
  • Public accounting experience and/or Utility/Energy industry experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook



  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Accounting
  • At least 5 years related experience
  • CPA preferred
