Job Summary

The Sr SAP ABAP Developer - CRB will be responsible for designing, testing, developing, integrating, and supporting solutions in SAP ISU Print Workbench.  The developer will primarily focus on all outgoing customer correspondence, customer invoices, and integration with OpenText StreamServe for document presentation and archiving.  This role collaborates with cross-functional team, implements enhancements based on functional specifications, creates technical specifications, performs technical unit testing, compiles testing documentation, and investigates and resolves defects.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and configure SAP ISU Print Workbench based on functional specifications provided by functional team members.  Support the analysis, design, development, and implementation phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) by producing the prescribed deliverables with minimal oversight from senior staff.
  • Investigates incidents reported against IT applications to determine the root cause, implement resolution, or identify alternative workaround.  Provides 24X7 primary and/or secondary support to business-critical applications which includes monitoring of daily batch processing and responding to job failures in a timely manner.
  • Provide cross-training and guidance to other team members to ensure appropriate knowledge transfer. Document development processes and step-by-step procedures.
  • Develop knowledge and skills in document presentation and archiving for integration with Print Workbench.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Advanced technical knowledge of SAP ISU Print Workbench, ABAP, SAP Smart Forms, and Form Classes. 
  • Subject matter expertise in SAP ISU Bill Print, Correspondence, and ISU Billing and Invoicing Processes.
  • Thorough understanding of SAP debugger to identify and resolve issues in SAP systems. 
  • Strong verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal skills.  Frequently presents information to their team and department.
  • Understands project plans and is able to clearly articulate their role, project goals, and timelines.  Assist in developing estimates, timelines, and project plans for projects.
  • Experience creating detailed technical specifications, performing technical unit testing, and compiling technical unit test documentation.
  • Working knowledge of ITIL and COBIT5 based IT Governance and Management frameworks or other structured industry standard methodologies.

Education and Experience

  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent discipline. 
  • An Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent discipline plus five (5) years of development experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Required: Six (6) or more years of SAP ABAP Development experience in SAP IS-U (Utilities) module.  Comprised of a combination of experience in the following components:
    • Bill Print and Correspondence Print Workbench.
    • Extensive knowledge of SAP IS-U Billing and Invoicing processes and tables.
    • Cross-functional knowledge of IS-U Customer Service, Device Management and FICA.
  • ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library) Foundation certification (at hire or within 12 months in position). 
  • Preferred: Integration experience with document presentation and archiving.
