Job Summary

The Program Manager leads functional and operational aspects of the Environmental Sustainability (ESG) and Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) programs. This role will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to manage and develop standards related to RNG policies and procedures and the Green House Gas program, including data gathering and reporting. In addition, the Program Manager will be responsible for supporting the Company’s overall ESG strategy and leading implementation of the Utilities programs and initiatives. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Renewable Natural Gas (RNG)
    • Program management for gas quality and standards for companies RNG projects. Program management includes working with engineering, marketing, construction, and operations teams to design, construct, and commission RNG interconnects. 
    • Development and management of processes, operational procedures, and gas quality requirements for constructing and operating RNG interconnects.
    • RNG project developer point of contact for implementation of RNG interconnects throughout the project’s development, construction, and commissioning. 
    • Assistance with the development and execution of Engineering Services and Coordination/Interconnect Agreements.
    • Responsible for oversight of operational RNG facilities including facility audits and required sampling based on the requirements set forth in the Coordination/Interconnect Agreements.
    • Coordination with other company stakeholders to revise standards, training, and safety requirements associated with RNG.
    • Technical support for operations on RNG Interconnects at custody supply points and operational RNG supply sources.
  • Environmental Sustainability
    • Support the Company’s Corporate ESG strategy and promote a culture of environmental responsibility and sustainability.
    • Provide oversight of the environmental sustainability program and federal greenhouse gas reporting requirements.
    • Develop and/or consolidate data required for Corporate ESG reporting.
    • Coordinate data collection efforts as part of the Annual ESG report process. 
    • Collaborate with the Corporate ESG team to advance and support strategic initiatives. 
    • Responsible for being the main point of contact for municipalities developing local climate action plans and regulatory officials involved in sustainability initiatives.
    • Monitor environmental regulations and rules and emerging technology that will reduce emissions within the natural gas industry.
    • Working with company stakeholders to implement projects to reduce overall emissions. 
    • Assistance with mapping of processes and procedures.
  • Own and manage the ESG and RNG program budgets. Monthly financial management and actual financial performance to forecasted performance. Monitor and approve all budgeted project expenditures as per UGI’s financial processes and policies.
  • Company representative for organization and collaboratives associated with sustainability, methane emissions, and RNG.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong project management skills.
  • Experience implementing new IT systems.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of UGI’s Gas Operations Manual as related to gas quality analysis and regulation.
  • Ability to guide and influence others that are not directly reporting to this position.
  • Knowledge of greenhouse gas and natural gas quality standards and analysis.
  • Knowledge and experience with Employee safety including PPE and gas monitoring equipment.
  • Experience using environmental regulations in support of natural gas industry.
  • Knowledge of the components of the UGI Corporate ESG Program.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science or Associates Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Engineering, Math, Finance, Business, Accounting, Statistics, or related quantitative discipline.
  • Minimum of 8 years of job-related experience.
  • PMP or similar preferred.
