Principal Project Leader - Safety

Summary:

 

This position will be responsible for managing the Implementation of approved process improvements in support of safety.   This role coordinates and reports on status on the progress of implementation teams to the Executive Steering Committee (ESC).  The position will be the single point of contact for internal and external resources that are supporting the implementation of the recommendations.   This position will help manage these projects, help to prioritize and acquire appropriate resources to achieve goals and keep ESC informed on progress and any major issues encountered that may be impeding progress of implementing recommendations.

 

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Manage the process of completing approved recommendations from process improvements teams, kaizens or other sources in support of improving safety at UGI.   Involves working with multiple departments across the company.
  • Supports execution of the change management plans, communications plans, and support training planning, coordination, logistics, and execution of process improvements. Ensure program resource plans and schedules are developed to meet calendar and financial budget plans.
  • Applies an effective quality assurance mechanism over the work performed and deliverables produced and submitted to the company and the Executive Steering Committee.
  • Support build out of process implementation teams including team member selection, recruiting and assessing best fit for team members.   Provide information on team role and time commitment as part of an implementation team.
  • Provides monthly (or more frequently as requested) status summaries of ongoing implementation of recommendations.

  • Knowledge of UGI’s organization and safety programs.
  • Ability to manage cross-functional relationships
  • Ability to travel within the service territory with occasional overnight travel.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science or Associates Degree in Engineering, Math, Finance, Business, Accounting, Statistics or related quantitative discipline.
  • At least 5 years of related experience
  • PMP preferred
