Position Summary:

Leads the revenue/margin analysis and budgeting, financial modeling and statistical analysis functions of the FP&A team. Supports the general functions of the Finance Department using financial analytics; including the evaluation of new business development, creation of complex financial models to assist in project valuation and decision making, and the coordination of cross-departmental projects. Uses statistical and modeling techniques to support the overall business strategy and to assist other areas analyze/interpret complex information by identifying trends and establishing probabilistic outcomes. Explains the “story” as well as the risks and opportunities related to the business to internal stakeholders. Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining results. Supports the preparation of base rate case and other regulatory filings. Develops financial models to assist management with project valuation and decision making.

Principal Accountabilities:

•           Lead the revenue budgeting and forecasting process on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis; including the calculation of weather effects and usage.

•           Provide modeling and analytical support for major projects and initiatives.

•           Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis as required.

•           Provides analytical support for the creation of base rate cases and other regulatory filings.

•           Provide statistical and analytical support for cross-departmental projects.

•           Perform other duties as requested.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Extensive knowledge of financial statements and financial statement analysis, including an ability to analyze cash flow and the impact on the financial statements.

Extensive knowledge of statistical analysis and principals.

Strong analytical, problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills.

Extensive knowledge of financial modeling, including the calculation and presentation of IRR, NPV, ROE and ROIC.

Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel


Education:  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Engineering or Statistics. MBA preferred

Length of Experience: 3 - 5 years, Utility industry experience a plus

Certifications-CPA, CMA, CFA or CTP a plus

Appropriate combination of education and relevant work experience.

Prior experience with Hyperion Planning a plus.
