Position Summary:

Under the general supervision of the Payroll Supervisor this position, the Payroll Coordinator III, is responsible for performing multi-state payroll processing activities for approximately 2,500 employees.  Some of the duties include maintaining and analyzing employee earnings, taxes, garnishments, voluntary and involuntary deductions; calculating payroll and adjustments; generating, reviewing and analyzing various payroll reports; detecting errors and discrepancies, and troubleshooting any pay check bulk delivery issues.

 

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Complete reconciliation of all payroll entries by reviewing audit reports and changes identified in current payroll for accuracy
  • Import union time weekly into timekeeping system, reconcile the import, investigate and resolve any discrepancies
  • Run various payroll interfaces and submit reconciled files to vendors; resolve relevant issues as needed
  • Enter employee changes (various, including wage garnishments, employee tax changes) and any other employee adjustments
  • Complete weekly payroll checklist items and complete month-end reporting requirements
  • Work with HRIS support services for Employee Central Payroll and timekeeping system to resolve payroll processing issues; this includes assisting with changes for union contracts or business unit needs
  • Complete biweekly tax reconciliation for all business units, identify tax variances between Employee Central Payroll and ADP; provide Payroll Supervisor with audit results to review and address
  • Assist employees with payroll-related questions and issues, including interpretation of payroll policies and procedures
  • Perform other related activities as needed

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Track record of following issues and requests successfully to resolution
  • Knowledge of time and attendance system (preferrably with Workforce Software)
  • Knowledge of SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll highly preferred

 

Qualifications
Education:  High school diploma or equivalent

Length of experience:  Minimum of 5 years of payroll processing experience

Certifications:  CPP certification is a plus
Working Conditions:  Regular office environment
