Job Summary

The Manager – Major Accounts is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing innovative marketing plans and projects that focus on new technologies, including but not limited to Combined Heat and Power (CHP), Natural Gas Vehicles (CNG/LNG), desiccant dehumidification, micro turbines, and fuel cells. In addition, this role will manage a portfolio of Rate XD customers by being their primary contact for contract, rate, billing, and infrastructure discussions, and maximizing sales and margin opportunities for these customers while minimizing fuel switching and avoiding bypasses. Finally, the Manager – Major Accounts will oversee all billing and customer service related activities for Major Account (non-Choice transportation) customers and marketers (Choice and non-Choice).
 

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and manage innovative marketing planswith a focus on new natural gas technologies, including but not limited to Combined Heat and Power (CHP), CNG/LNG Vehicles, desiccant dehumidification, micro turbines, and fuel cells.  Drive profitable projects as the primary new technologies resource for the EE&C and sales teams across the company.
  • Manage a portfolio of high-profile customers by being their primary contact for contract, rate, billing, and infrastructure discussions, while maximizing sales and margin opportunities and minimizing fuel switching and bypasses.
  • Manage the monthly billing processes for the UGI Gas and Electric Divisions’ Major Account customers and marketer accounts for both Choice and non-Choice transportation gas deliveries in accordance with Company tariffs.  Coordinate with Customer Relations, Accounting, Rates, Gas Supply, and IS departments on maintaining Company regulatory policies and procedures.  Manage and coordinate the preparation of reports for internal stakeholders, external customers, marketers and consultants.
  • Manage the input, maintenance and analysis of information applicable to Major Account customers’ remote metering, nominations, monthly usage and imbalance activity.  Identify and resolve reporting discrepancies, meter/device malfunctions, irregular usage patterns and fuel switching on a timely basis. Provide support to Meter Reading, M&R, Customer Accounting and Credit & Collections applicable to Major Accounts.
  • Monitor and perform the necessary tasks to ensure the Major Account Billing controls are in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.  As needed, provide supporting documentation for internal and external auditing requests.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Thorough knowledge of gas and electric tariff components relative to Major Accounts
  • Ability to independently develop and implement new technologies marketing growth strategies.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, specifically in consultative selling and negotiations.
  • Strong managerial skills
  • Knowledge of gas technologies, gas equipment, combustion, energy conservation, and other general industry knowledge
Education and Experience

Education:    Bachelor’s Degree
Length of Experience:     Required:  5 yrs experience  Preferred:  2 yrs related experience in natural gas/utility industry  
Other:     Knowledge and experience working with SAP preferred.
