Job Summary
The position of Manager, Energy Efficiency & Conservation (EE&C) Programs, is responsible for all elements of UGI’s Natural Gas and Electric Energy Efficiency programs. From initial development, through filing and ongoing management and reporting, this role will coordinate all internal and external resources, including but not limited to Rates, Marketing, Communication, Accounting and Legal personnel, as well as external consultants and vendors in order to effectively administer a suite of Energy Efficiency programs. This role will also manage all Energy Efficiency & Conservation regulatory reporting requirements, as well as assist with Base Rate Case testimony, discovery, and settlement negotiations for all Energy Efficiency & Conservation matters, while also providing broader support as needed with Customer Programs (low-income assistance programs) regulatory filings.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, market, and administer Energy Efficiency & Conservation programs for over 700,000 UGI Electric and Gas residential and commercial customers. Review and analyze data related to Total Resource Cost (TRC) analysis for individual programs. Issue RFPs, evaluate bids, and hire vendors while adhering to Company procedures for vendor contracts in order to support program expansion. Develop and manage high performing staff who can progress into roles with increasing levels of responsibility. Provide guidance and support for the day-to-day operations of program management while also promoting a positive customer experience.
- Manage Customer Programs Department regulatory filings with the Public Utility Commission and Bureau of Consumer Services, etc. Support and/or provide witness testimony development, litigation, and negotiation of settlement provisions. Ensure programs are operating according to Energy Efficiency & Conservation regulatory guidelines; work cross-functionally with Rates and Legal Departments when Customer Programs filings are required.
- Manage Energy Efficiency & Conservation program performance; interfacing with and directing internal and/or external resources as required; including but not limited to UGI’s vendors and Conservation Service Providers (CSPs) in order to achieve program goals.
- Develop and maintain industry knowledge of trends impacting the utility industry and Energy Efficiency & Conservation Programs. Attend Act 129 Stakeholder Meetings and relevant industry webinars. Support UGI’s Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) initiatives related to Energy Efficiency & Conservation Program performance.
- Assist with ad hoc analysis and other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities including supervisory and staff development experience preferably within the energy or utility industry.
- Experience with utility sponsored Energy Efficiency & Conservation Programs and Pennsylvania Act 129 framework.
- Program management experience supporting customer facing programs with an emphasis on marketing, customer experience, vendor management, and data reporting.
- Marketing experience with content and campaign (email, direct mail, digital) deployment.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and analytical skills combined with strong communication and relationship management capabilities.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, finance, energy, or engineering preferred. MBA a plus.
- Minimum of 7 years of related experience; Leadership experience preferred.
- Certified Energy Manager a plus.
