Job Summary

This position will primarily provide facility management for the Denver, Learning Center and Morgantown Road facilities, and support Building & Grounds operations at additional areas as needed.  Responsibilities include project management and facilities maintenance and repairs at these locations.  This position will also have the responsibility to assist in the budgeting, authorization, contract administration, status-tracking and completion reporting for all capital Building and Grounds projects.  Additional requirements include monitoring security systems; space planning for departments and new hires/transfers; managing the B&G service ticket requests; promoting a positive, safe, secure, team-oriented work environment that supports other departments within the organization; and response to special projects as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Estimate and provide project management for capital and maintenance Building and Grounds projects.  Ensure that these projects are completed in a timely manner and within budget.
  • Supervise the Building and Grounds team including controlling work schedules, safe work practices, and overtime.
  • Manage the B&G service requests for all areas of responsibility and coordinate all departmental space planning needs.
  • Implement facility safety and security policies and reviews at all assigned area locations.  Respond to after-hours requests as needed.
  • Complete special projects as assigned in order to support the needs of the business and increase the overall efficiencies of the Company.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of building mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
  • Project estimating and management skills.
  • Communication skills; written and verbal, as well as superior interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.  In addition, the ability to work with difficult employees in various departments.
  • Analytical skills used in comparing project proposals and contract language.
  • Ability to supervise union employees and to ensure the employees are productive, work safely and act in the best interest of the Company.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Five Years experience
  • Knowledge of maintaining assets and managing projects for buildings, structures, equipment, and grounds, including knowledge of OSHA and local and national building code requirements.  Knowledge of troubleshooting and operating MEP, HVAC, and Fire Systems.  Knowledge of service contracts, safety manuals, audits and reporting, and chemical storage and disposal.  Must also be familiar with the collective bargaining agreements in place for the existing workforce.
  • Knowledge of the following computer systems:
    • UGI ServiceNow Service Ticket System
    • SAP (Requisition and invoice approvals, reporting and analysis and PowerPlan)
    • Microsoft Office
    • Various Building Automation Systems
