Position Summary:

Support the reliability and sustainable growth of the gas distribution system by analyzing the impacts of significant additions and changes to the distribution system.  Conduct analyses and create long term plans for improving the reliability of the distribution system.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • 60% Complete system analysis related to significant additions or modifications to the gas distribution system.   Review engineering designs and optimize for reliability. 
  • 20% Develop long term capacity and reliability improvement plans for areas of the distribution system.  
  • 20% Develop and maintain winter customer support / interruption plans to maintain system reliability during cold weather periods.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Advanced use of Synergi application to analyze impacts of changes to hydraulic distribution system.  
  • Advanced understanding of gas pipeline flow.
  • General understanding of natural gas regulation and metering.
  • Technical writing skills.
  • Analytical and troubleshooting skills.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field.
  • One to two years’ work experience in a natural gas engineering position preferred.
