Job Summary-

Manage, direct and schedule field service and dispatching group activity through effective real-time and future scheduling to ensure safe operations, maximum margin and superior customer and area satisfaction. Provide leadership to the Central Dispatching group by acting as a liaison between area operations and the Dispatching group.

 

Duties and Responsibilities-

  • Schedule field service activity in advance for UGI-GD/ED resources. Manage workload based on historical precedent, seasonal priorities, and operational preferences. Load level workload for area resources
  • Plan and coordinate resource assignments with area personnel. Implement plans based on company policy, compliance base, supervisory input, volume and priority of work, and potential gains in efficiency. Manage appointment booking system to ensure field work is manageable and appointment commitments are met.
  • Act as a positive influence on the rest of the team. Provide assistance to others when needed, volunteer for special projects and assignments, and provide gap coverage when scheduled dispatch staffing is inadequate. Communicate with area operations supervision to ensure adequate field resources are provided to complete all field work.
  • Generate daily route sheets for all areas scheduled. This includes all information pertaining to contact info, vehicle information, qualification information, and area working is accurate and up to date. Assist dispatchers with items related to answering phones, sending same-day orders to Mobile Dispatch, and verifying field resource information is accurate with operations supervision.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities-

  • Strong supervisory and internal and external customer contact skills
  • Requires a high degree of quick independent judgement and leadership in directing field activity and responding to high-priority incidents
  • Ability to plan and adjust quickly based on changing weather, customer needs and available manpower and other dynamics while maintaining focus on public and employee safety
  • Ability to effectively schedule and direct area personnel in remote locations under stressful conditions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong PC skills including Microsoft Office applications
  • Understanding of UGI distribution system, local EMA/911 personnel including police and first responder response procedures, area callout procedures, PA PUC regulations including Chapter 56 and Act 201, emergency response procedures for operations and gas control staff, DOJM & SAP and a sound understanding of all municipalities in all of the UGI service territories.
  • Knowledge of Work Management Systems, UGI Mainframe, SAP, Samsara, Utilisphere, Skylight, ESRI, Emergency Log, ARCOS

 

Education and Experience-

High School Diploma or eqivalent. Associates degree (preferred)

2+ years experience in gas utility operations (preferred)
