Position Summary:
Responsible for the management of UGI’s capital R&B and Growth projects.  Responsible for managing the projects through the final design and approval stages and monitoring progress against schedule and budget until construction is completed.  Partners with the Capital Construction team to develop and manage resource and project plans to deliver projects within the approved budget and schedule to achieve annual targets and in adherence with UGI safety policies and procedures.


Principal Accountabilities:
20%-  Responsible for managing capital projects from design phase to construction ready including permit acquisition, land acquisition, material orders, final cost estimation, and obtaining capital approvals.  Clearly communicate schedule and project plan to the Capital Construction team.
25%-  Direct a team of Sr Managers across the territory to develop the long-term resource plan to complete the R&B and Growth capital projects.  Communciate plan effectively with internal and external construction resources.  Identify opportunities for cost savings and strategic alliances.  Develop plan that utilizes resources efficiently and ensures there are adequate resrouces to perform the work safely. 
25%-  Responsible for project controls including cost and schedule forecasts, for individual large projects and in aggregate, and communicating to relevant stakeholder groups at least monthly.  Responsible for compiling variance analysis and communicating lessons learned.
20%-  Lead the preparation of the Growth and R&B Capital budget.  Aggregate information from System Planning, Area Engineering, Business Development Engineering, M&R and Operations to develop the budget.
10%-  Coordinate, along with Director Captial Construction, municipal outreach and cooperation.  Identify opportunities for efficiency gains and cost savings.

•  Experience with managing large-scale complex capital projects as well as a portfolio of projects across a distributed territory.

Qualifications:
Education:  Bachelor's degree in engineering, or a closely related technical field; Master's degree in business or engineering preferred
Length of Experience:  10 years of experience in gas, electric utility/pipeline/transmission with a thorough understanding of major business functions; demonstrated ability to lead complex projects
Certifications:  Project Management Certification preferred
Other:  Computer literate with intermediate knowledge of MS Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; MS Project preferred

Working Conditions:
This role is typically office based. As may be required, however typically infrequently ( <10% of time ), the role may be required to visit construction sites or other field locations where operational work may underway. As such, exposure to operational / construction hazards and / or inclement conditions will necessitate adherence to personal protective equipment procedural requirements.
