Job Summary
The Project Analyst-II (PA-II) is responsible for project controls tasks and deliverables related to Replacement and Betterment (R&B) and Growth capital projects. The PA supports project managers and other stakeholders throughout projects in areas of estimating, cost tracking, scheduling, variance analysis, resource planning, document management, closeout processes, administrative functions, and other pertinent project information.
This position can be based out of one of the following locations in Pennsylvania: Denver, Archbald, Wilkes-Barre, Lancaster, Harrisburg, Middletown
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support and coordinate capital budget input and estimating within Power Plan with minimal oversight supervision. Support engineering with budget coordination responsibilities as project is moving through technical approval process. Coordinate and support financial estimation process with engineering. Offer support and input as estimates are finalized. Communicate Power Plan financial estimate to engineering. Update Power Plan as project moves through estimating and financial approval.
- Create, maintain, and own assigned areas MS Project schedule with minimal oversight supervision. Schedule will contain all coordinated work, LTIIP and relocate work to be completed in current and future planned years. Power Plan project information, contractor, crew information and foreman along with project dates will be contained and maintained in the schedule. Analyst will participate in coordinated construction and engineering meetings, analyze scheduling impacts and risks, and communicate to project stakeholders the schedule and any possible issues with planned work according to the schedule.
- Monitor and analyze project financials post authorization through construction and paving activities. Update Power Plan in accordance to project schedule and reforecasting by analyzing project spend. Lead monthly LTIIP portfolio update meetings with company stakeholders. As project nears overage where reauthorization is needed, communicate to stakeholders that project is nearing or above reauthorization threshold.
- Update Power Plan as necessary when project achieves in-service. Ensure project completion notice is completed and posted within Power Plan (Support ADC changes to process as they arise).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Exceptionally organized with strong attention to detail.
- Financial/accounting acumen; ability to analyze project data, identify key information, and present findings to team members.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Projects, etc.); ability to learn and become proficient with company-specific software/programs.
- Ability to build strong relationships and develop trust; collaborative, team-focused, and service-oriented.
- Strong communication skills; communicate effectively and persuasively, both verbally and in writing.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting/analytics preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in gas, electric utility/pipeline/transmission
- 3-5 years of experience in financial/accounting analysis
- PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA) (or other certifications in cost management and/or project controls) preferred.
- Computer literate with proficiency in MS Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; MS Project preferred.
