Job Summary
The Analyst is responsible for implementing the daily supply plans by nominating, scheduling, and transporting natural gas and power supplies for delivery into UGI’s Distribution System and for supply scheduling activity in the Company’s Gas Management System. This position is also responsible for acting as the point operator for the Company’s interconnects with interstate pipelines, storage, peaking, and local gathering systems by confirming the receipt of supplies scheduled into the Company’s distribution system on behalf of the Company, Third Party Suppliers, and Transportation Customers. The Analyst works with the Supply Planning Group, Central Gas Control, Natural Gas Suppliers, Customers and other schedulers to ensure that all energy supplies that have been purchased or sold are routed in an efficient and cost-effective manner. This position requires participation in an on-call schedule working before/after regular working hours including work on holidays and/or weekends.
The Analyst I – Gas Supply Scheduling position is an entry level position that does not require prior natural gas scheduling experience.
The Analyst II – Gas Supply Scheduling has 2 years of demonstrated proficiency in the above (preferred), and the Analyst II leverages an understanding of key business drivers to impact process improvement initiatives
Duties and Responsibilities
- Implement supply plans by scheduling (1) the transportation and storage of natural gas supplies and capacity releases on interstate pipelines and (2) power on PJM with instruction, guidance, and direction from management. Develop working knowledge of Company’s firm transportation, storage, delivered supply, and peaking assets across all pipelines supplying the Company. Learn to track, communicate, and circumvent capacity constraints, restrictions, and other force majeure events issued by interstate pipelines to prevent penalties.
- Serve as meter operator for Company’s interconnections with pipeline and supply sources. Confirm deliveries made by 3rd party and Natural Gas Suppliers into UGI’s distribution on interstate pipelines. Communicate actual and expected deliveries to Supply Planning group and Central Gas Control. Manage Natural Gas Supplier nominations and reconcile any Customer/Supply nomination variances on a timely basis. Communicate actual and expected deliveries to Supply Planning and Central Gas Control to meet customer demand, while preventing pipeline penalties. Learn and prepare Critical Day Communication and Columbia Total Firm Entitlements (“TFE”) Restriction protocol for management review.
- Maintain accurate Pipeline Scheduling, Storage, and Capacity Release information in Company’s Gas Management System to assist in the Accounting Close process. Responsible for accurately reconciling transaction quantities and minimizing end-of-month invoicing discrepancies.
- Participate in Department’s on-call schedule. Implement the Company’s contingency supply plans based on real-time pipeline conditions after normal business hours with instruction, guidance, and direction from management, while preventing pipeline penalties.

Education and Experience
B.S. in Business, Accounting, Energy, or related discipline preferred but not required.
