SAP IS-U/IDEX & Billing- Techno Functional Role

This is a combo Techno Functional SAP IS-U IDEX and Billing role.  This position will work closely with end users, business owners, configurators and development teams to troubleshoot incidents and develop enhancements.   This role will be a subject matter expert with SAP ISU IDEX (IS-U-IDE) and SAP ISU Billing and Invoicing solutions (IS-U-BI and IS-U-IN).  

  1. This position will provide functional and technical support for billing, invoicing, exception management, BDEx, data exchange processes, check framework mapping, monitoring process documents, IDOC structuring, EDI mapping, and data requests.  This includes support of standard ISU processes that support gas and electric deregulation in Pennsylvania including change and enrollment of supplier; accelerated switching; bill, payment and write-off processing. 
  2. Responsible for translating the Business requirements of the Functional Areas (Rates, Supplier Administration, Customer Billing, and Customer Service) into the SAP system via the SAP Configuration IMG (SAP Implementation Guide) and SAP ABAP Workbench.  This includes all aspects of project work, on-going functional enhancements, troubleshooting, and SAP provided system and/or legal changes. 
  3. Collaborates on all phases of the systems development life cycle (SDLC) with a focus on the analysis, design, configuration and development of ABAP-based solutions. Must continuously maintain and develop the necessary skillsets, functional, technical and analytical to enhance value-added business solutions within the IT architecture.
  4. Collaborate with business unit analysts, configurators, developers and offshore support team to design, develop, test and implement enhancements to meet changing policy, regulatory and business requirements.  
  5. Ensure successful deployment of end-to-end SAP ISU/IDEX solutions and Billing solutions by interpreting customer needs for which in-depth configuration, development, and integration is required.
  6. Troubleshoot complex issues, propose solutions, identify cross functional dependencies and demonstrate the ability to drive problems to closure.  Maintain subject matter expert competency to positively impact a range of requests and projects in IDEX and Billing functional areas.  
  7. Generate the required documentation throughout the different phases of SDLC by producing the prescribed deliverables such as project charters, functional/technical specifications and test plans. Lead the request and analysis phases of the SDLC to assess preliminary requirements, estimate effort and provide input to project prioritization.  
  8. Lead concurrent projects with cross functional teams, business leaders and third-party vendors.  Facilitate requirement workshops and status meetings to ensure consensus among all project stakeholders.  
  9. Prepare and provide status updates, provide input to help with defect and change prioritization and ensure timely completion of Incidents/Defects and Service Requests/Changes.  
  10. Provide mentoring and cross-training to other team members to ensure appropriate knowledge transfer occurs in IDEX and Billing functional teams.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Possess strong analytical skills, which allows for the assessment of UGI business processes and how they guide and shape application functionality.  
  • Possess technical skills to work with ABAP development, SAP tables, SAP queries, scripts, LSMW data transfer and SAP debugging.  
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills to collaborate with business and IT.  Frequently presents information to the team, project managers and business areas.  Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Works within established priorities and adheres to task assignments.  Understands project plans and can clearly articulate their role, project goals, and timelines. Develops project plans for small projects; partners with Project Managers to develop project plans for large projects and assists Manager with resource planning.  
  • Working knowledge of COBIT5 based IT Governance and Management framework or other structured industry standard methodologies.
     

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
Required:      

  • Six (6) or more years of SAP experience.  Comprised of a combination of functional experience in one of the following components with SAP IS-U (Utilities) and experience with SAP ABAP development.  
  • SAP IS-U/IDEX (Intercompany Data Exchange) PREFERRED
  • IS-U Billing
  • IS-U FICA (Contract Accounts Receivable and Payable)

Preferred:     

  • Six (6) or more years of configuration and ABAP experience with SAP IS-U Billing & IDEX 

Certifications:  

  • ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library) Foundation certification (at hire or within 12 months in position).

Other:  

  •  SAP professional certifications in a related discipline listed above.
  • Two (2) or more years supporting a system with a Relational Database Management System (RDBMS), and experience in systems analysis, design, and development. 
  • Experience developing technical specifications based on the requirements provided from business units.
