Position Summary
Coordinate activities and work with a team of Tapping resources across the UGI service territory, responsible for the safe planning & execution of UGI’s capital construction, O&M projects, tapping activities, and camera Inspection needs. Works in collaboration with Engineering, Operations, and Capital Construction to successfully execute work in the field to ensure project milestones are safely achieved. Interacts with contractors and UGI resources to schedule work, provide updates as necessary, coordinate crew training initiatives, and maintain equipment-tooling as required. Interfaces with other regions, tapping crews to provide support as necessary to achieve company goals.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with Engineering, Capital Construction, and O&M departments to review, approve, schedule, and track tapping jobs. This includes review and approval of tapping and stopping forms.
- Oversee the maintenance and inventory of all tapping equipment, tooling, and tapping truck(s) for proper operation, track and schedule required equipment-tooling maintenance, and provide input to O&M budgets for tooling requirements. Send tooling for repair and order new equipment as needed.
- Supports and works in collaboration with other areas, tapping crews to assess company needs. Including training and development opportunities for tapping resources.
- Support Capx. Projects in the Region as assigned.
- Performs field visits of project sites to ensure compliance with all OQ, Federal, State, and Local regulations, and Company policies and procedures which influence the safety of employees, customers, and the public as well as Company assets.
- Individual is assigned responsibility for 24-hour emergency response on a rotational basis, utilizing the C & M workforce for repairs and installations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Thorough understanding of gas construction practices, means & methods, tapping equipment, company work, environmental and safety practices
- Ability to read and understand project documents, contracts, engineering drawings, and P&IDs
- Ability to effectively lead, plan, schedule, manage, and coordinate daily work activities
- Excellent Interpersonal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced high high-pressure environment in varying weather conditions
- Ability to work independently and as a team leader, including the ability to manage conflicting priorities
- Leadership – setting of and enforcement of expectations and recognition for positive behaviors.
- Ability to lead, coach, and manage team members
- Understanding of budgeting and ordering process
Qualifications
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Project Management, or Construction Management preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in direct utility construction, operations, construction management, and/or inspection of complex pipeline projects and regulator station construction. Prior Tapping experience preferred.
- Driver’s License
