Job Summary

This position will be supervising the Meter Reader Department in Bethlehem.  With a commitment to safety, the Operations Lead, under the direction of the Operations Support Supervisor, will supervise Meter Reading personnel and process and assist in additional Operational needs.  Will be responsible for directing daily Meter Reading operations and oversees special projects as assigned in the area of responsibility.  Will be expected to monitor progress and completion dates for all of the above.  Will participate as a Duty Supervisor as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise Meter Reading Personnel: Directly supervise area Meter Reading clerical and field employees to meet area and divisional goals in productivity, accuracy, and non-access.  Also provide daily support to area field collections personnel.
  • Supervise System Utilization: Supervise the administration of various on-line systems such as DOJM, R2, Fieldglass, FCS, CAD, Itron, Map frame, PA 1-Call, MSDS etc. and interface with SAP, Collections, and I/S on using these systems.  Supervise various Operation Projects: Inactive Service Cut-offs, Inside Slip, AMR, Collections, Meter Reading, etc.  Provide Support to area personnel on these systems.
  • Operation Analytics: Utilize Discoverer Plus/SAP and other software to design programs/requests to retrieve information and generate reports required by Operations supervision to run the business and measure performance, such as lost time, utilization, and overtime and monthly budget.
  • Develop and Implement cost saving measures within Lehigh Operations and execute on assigned operations programs.
  • Respond to and take a leadership role in emergency situations including participation on the duty supervisor schedule.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to work with contractors.
  • Skilled knowledge of Construction and Maintenance practices and techniques related to the field work.
  • Communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to work with supervision and coworkers.
  • Demonstrate mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to work with SAP, Field Glass, People Connect, Microsoft.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of job-related experience.
