Job Summary

The M&R Utility A - Start position assists other Mechanics in operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting all metering, measurement, and regulation equipment under the direct Supervision of the Senior Supervisor M&R.  The successful candidate will be subject to M&R department call out.  Confined Space entry required.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists in installing, operating, troubleshooting, and repairing all types of regulators and control valves in the system. Install, repair, and replace all meters above a size AC800 and all measurement equipment.
  • Assists other employees to install, operate, troubleshoot, and repair all types/sizes of meters and correctors in the system. 
  • Assists in performing general regulator station maintenance AND troubleshoot complex city gate stations.
  • Conforms to all safety standards and procedures required to operate complex systems.
  • Receive, log, sort, pack, inventory, and ship out all meters in the Archbald Meter Shop.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must possess a valid PA Driver’s License
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Good mechanical skills
  • Availability for shift works and extended hours

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Valid PA Driver’s License
