OVERVIEW:  The Procurement Manager is responsible for leading, managing and executing procurement to include development, monitoring and execution of all related purchasing and contracting activities required to accomplish the organization’s procurement needs.



  • Develop and assimilate the central procurement function within the company’s culture, people and processes
  • Manage and prioritize the procurement department currently consisting of 2 direct reports including setting targets and monitoring performance
  • Establish and deliver a sourcing strategy that promotes adequate lead-time deliveries and leverages financial analysis and competitive bids/RFPs for cost savings and other target objectives
  • Run supplier contract management administration activities including negotiation, compliance, assumption, and renewals
  • Monitors the life cycle, in collaboration with project managers or department representatives, to make sure vendors perform requirements defined within contracts. 
  • Manages and executes/oversees the activities of solicitation processes to include, but not limited to, Request for Proposals (RFP), Request for Qualifications (RFQ) and Invitations for Bids (IFB).  Coordinates with all departments to review and create specifications.
  • Establish policies, new processes and systems to more effectively and efficiently manage the P2P and inventory management cycles
  • Oversee the procurement card and fleet card program and grow spend to maximize cost savings, productivity gains and financial incentives
  • Negotiate with external vendors to secure the most advantageous terms.
  • Prepare bid evaluations on both price and terms and make recommendations.
  • Review and audit purchase orders and invoices for accuracy and compliance with respective terms.
  • Foresee alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers and clients.
  • Anticipate unfavorable events through analysis of data and prepare control strategies.
  • Perform risk management regarding supply contracts and agreements.
  • Additional duties as assigned.


  • Ability to read manuals, drawings, schematics, blue prints and research technical matters to stay current with applicable technical and industry changes, a plus.
  • Strategic thinking and planning skills and experience.
  • Ability to manage staff and complete projects cost effectively.
  • Proven track record of process and internal control improvements.
  • Distinctive problem solving and analysis skills combined with sound business judgment.
  • Strong interpersonal and consultative skills; ability to collaborate with business leaders and build consensus on important supply chain decisions.


  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, finance or accounting and strong preference for CPA or MBA
  • 5 to 10+ years of business experience in vendor sourcing, contracts management and supply chain management demonstrating progressive responsibility and growth.
