Overview:  The Operations Support Manager (OSM) performs numerous duties to help ensure the UGIES field operations run efficiently and safely.  Specifically, the OSM is responsible for the company’s maintenance management program, fleet operations, inventory management efforts, solar plant operations, budget development and tracking, and various other initiatives.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leads a small team of coordinator(s) and analyst(s) and provides them with daily instruction, development and oversight
  • Manages the company’s maintenance management system and coordinates development, implementation, administration and training related to the company’s maintenance software and maintenance program
  • Manages the company fleet program by purchasing and retiring vehicles as required; tracks maintenance and mileage of the fleet; selects appropriate vehicle types, options and accessories; administers the company’s DOT fleet program
  • Manages the company’s solar power generation plants, ensuring that all equipment and grounds maintenance activities are performed in a timely and efficient manner; coordinates with affected customers, landowners, contractors and municipalities as required; creates and adheres to an annual O&M budget for these facilities
  • Assists in the development of the company’s annual operations and capital budgets
  • Coordinates with the company’s finance, accounting and IT departments to track operations and capital budgets and present them in usable formats to operations personnel in the field
  • Works collaboratively with third party consultants to implement various process improvement initiatives and coordinates with field employees for the purposes of development and training
  • Supports the Director of Operations with various other initiatives to make the operations group function more efficiently

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of maintenance management systems and processes
  • Working knowledge of relevant regulations of the PAPUC, PHMSA, PADEP, EPA, OSHA, PA L&I, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to coordinate with various groups in multiple departments
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Strong PC skills (proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, SharePoint, PowerPoint, etc.)

 

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree required and post-graduate education a plus
  • At least 5 years of experience in developing and tracking operational budgets preferred
  • At least 5 years of experience in maintenance management systems preferred
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience in the energy industry highly preferred
  • Knowledge of the natural gas midstream business, natural gas compression facilities, natural gas underground storage facilities, propane facilities, liquefied natural gas facilities and/or electric generation facilities highly preferred
