Overview:  Manager of Land and Right-of-Way’s (“ROW’s”) day-to-day functions include the management of the Company’s western PA assets, with the potential to support functions across the Company, including negotiation of all related contractual agreements and ROW acquisition work.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage land and ROW acquisition strategies and activities including 3rd party contractor responsibilities.
  • Manage landowner and ROW issues both during construction and after a project is in service.
  • Manage landowners’ expectations so that permitting and budget needs are met.
  • Provide feedback and reports on land owner issues and activities to internal management and external agencies as needed.
  • Ensure property data and easement documentation is accurately executed and recorded.
  • Work with Legal to successfully negotiate easement and property fee purchases.
  • Meet with landowners, attend public meetings, and testify in condemnation court cases, as needed.
  • Manage land evaluations to develop easement costs and meet condemnation process requirements.
  • Land support for detailed, long-range strategic plans including coordination of regulatory, environmental, marketing or legal issues.
  • Collaborate with GIS Analyst to generate accurate lease maps. 
  • Project management - working multiple, concurrent projects within the frame work of a cross-disciplinary team toward company goals. 
  • Coordination and communication of property acquisition activities with other departments.
  • Preparing recommendations and formal presentations to management.
  • Assist in providing direction and supervision of contract land professionals. 

 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations and developments affecting the oil and gas industry and serve as the Company’s contact regarding land matters.
  • Strong communication, negotiations and interpersonal skills.
  • General knowledge of pipeline construction and large linear development projects.
  • General knowledge of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission process.
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret and analyze all types of oil and gas agreements and documents.
  • Knowledge of multiple state and federal regulations in the areas of operation.
  • Supervisory and project management experience is preferred.
  • Must be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisor(s), prioritize work schedule, focus attention on details, and follow applicable rules and regulations.

 
Education and Experience Required:

  • College degree preferred.
  • At least 4 - 7 years of experience in managing land and right of way acquisition for major construction projects, preferably linear projects.
