Entry Level Pipe-fitter/ Welder

Job Summary: In this position the employee will assist other welders, keep work area clear and in safe working condition. Cut and prepare piping and learn additional welding skills.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the welding team
  • Measure and cut pipe as directed by project Forman
  • Prepare pipe, valves, fittings, and flanges for welding
  • Fitting of pipe, valves, fittings, and flanges
  • Rigging of pipe, valves, fittings, and flanges
  • Keep construction/shop area clean and free of debris

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Needs to have and understand basic mechanical skill
  • Working knowledge of basic safety requirements for construction
  • Must be willing to learn and understand the building and construction trades including welding, rigging, pipe fitting and construction safety.  
  • Must be willing to learn and understand gas industry practices and standards.
  • Must be willing to accept direct supervision from the project Forman without conflict
  • Must read and learn UGI Energy Services’ policies and procedures manual
  • Must read and understand UGI Energy Services Safety manual.

 

Education and Experience Required:

  • High School Diploma
  • 1+ years of welding experience preferred
