Job Summary:

The HR Business Partner is the primary contact for HR issues for UGI Energy Services employees in Ohio, West Virginia, and western Pennsylvania. This role will provide guidance and advice on; policies and procedures, employee relations, staffing, compensation, benefits, learning and development and performance management.

 

Key Characteristics:

  • Must have a complete HR Generalist skill set. The job requires originality, ingenuity and independence to accomplish the workload. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the day to day HR decisions for the designated employee base. 
  • Ensures management is in compliance with hiring, termination, promotion, compensation, performance review, and safety policies. 
  • Provides assistance and guidance in identifying, evaluating, and resolving employee relations.
  • Facilitates effective interpersonal communication among managers, supervisors, and work units to ascertain employee relations and business related problems that adversely affect employee morale, productivity and company goals.  Investigate employee complaints and recommend resolution. 
  • Participates in the evaluation of policies, procedures and programs for cost effectiveness, ease of administration and business necessity.  Recommends new approaches to Managers to facilitate continual improvement in the effective utilization of human capital. 
  • Coordinates legal inquiries/charges with Managers and Legal Department to ensure proper documentation is obtained. 
  • Participate in recruitment and staffing assignments as requested.
  • Prepare employee separation letters and conduct exit interviews.   

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • 5-8 years direct HR Generalist experience, including employee relations
  • Ability to work in a self-directed environment, thinks/acts with little or no supervision. 
  • Prior HR experience in field level support preferred. 

 

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Employee Relations or Labor Relations preferred. 
  • Human Resources experience with a specific emphasis on consulting, training, and employee relations.
  • Expected to be a fully competent HR professional.

 

Working conditions:

  • Office setting; monthly visits to local facilities and occasional travel to corporate office in Wyomissing, PA.
