Job Summary
BUSINESS ANALYST – CORPORATE OFFICE (CHARLESTON, WV)
We are currently recruiting in our Corporate office, Charleston, WV, for an Business Analyst.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for various aspects of natural gas utility business, including, but not limited to gas supply activities such as forecasting of natural gas demand, gas purchasing, transportation contract management, gas accounting, as well as regulatory filings, plant work management, and inventory management.
- Responsible for preparation and analysis activities such as daily reporting of gas supply and transportation activities, material inventory management reports and analysis, plant work order processing and other accounting related duties.
- May provide additional support for Transportation and Exchange activities, operations performance metrics, and customer service metrics and support.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college in accounting, engineering or other technical relevant field; or minimum two to four years related experience; or equivalent combination of education or experience.
- Proficiency with various computer software such as Excel and Word; prefer advanced proficiency with Excel and familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles to perform analytical activities.
- Requires ability to read, analyze, and interpret government regulations, technical procedures, and business periodicals; ability to write reports, prepare data responses, and effectively present information; ability to communicate effectively, verbally and written, with internal and external customers and ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.
Preferences:
- Prefer experience with natural gas regulations, regulated distribution utilities, state utility regulatory commissions, interstate natural gas pipelines, regulatory and FERC accounting.
