Position Summary:
This position is an active supervisor leading a team of Technical Writers and Instructional Designers in creating, developing, and maintaining training content and documentation across the CES organization and supporting departments. The supervisor ensures the design and development of effective learning materials that address employee skill gaps and align with business strategic initiatives. This role collaborates with CES Management and supporting departments to support career development through targeted content creation and instructional design excellence.
Essential Functions:
- Design and develop comprehensive training materials, including e-learning modules, job aids, policies and procedures, and blended learning content, to address identified needs for the Customer Engagement Centers (CES) departments.
- Manage the content development pipeline, prioritizing requests and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality training materials.
- Supervise, coach, and develop Technical Writers and Instructional Designers. Conduct performance evaluations and identify development opportunities for team members.
- Establish and maintain quality standards for all training materials, reviewing content for consistency, accuracy, comprehensibility, and relevance.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, department managers, and the Training/Facilitation team to ensure content meets organizational needs and learner requirements.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated team leadership and supervisory skills essential.
- Proven project management skills to manage multiple content development timelines effectively.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts.
- Advanced proficiency with authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Rise, Captivate), LMS platforms, and multimedia development software.
- Strong editing and proofreading skills with keen attention to detail.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BA/BS in Instructional Design, Technical Writing, Learning & Development, or related field or equivalent experience preferred.
- Minimum 3+ years of progressive experience in instructional design and/or technical writing with at least 2 years of supervisory or lead experience.
- Certifications: Professional certification in instructional design or technical writing a plus (e.g., ATD, CPTD, CPLP).
- Other: Propane industry business knowledge preferred. AmeriGas system knowledge: CRM, SAP, SuccessFactors, Ancile, Poppulo, etc. Expertise in various instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, SAM, Bloom's Taxonomy).

The pay for this position ranges from $86,600.00 to $100,000.00, depending on circumstances including an applicant’s skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, prior job experience, market data, and other relevant factors.
