Lead - Region Finance Manager

As the leader of the Region Finance Management team, position focused on managing overall financial support of the Field.  Manager plays an integral role in supporting FP&A Manager by providing timely Forecast updates, key business insights/happenings, and driving efficiencies in budgeting, forecasting and analysis deliverables.    


Duties and Responsibilities:

Region Focus: Partners with Company & Region Leadership to provide analytical insight, drive financial discipline and deliver business results.

  • As a member of the Region Leadership Team, effectively communicate key financial trends and emerging issues to the Region & Area Leaders. Lead Region Finance Manager direct reports in weekly/monthly processes, managing relationships with Field, shepherding critical financial analysis, and driving consistency in service/support that FP&A provides to the Field.
  • Train and educate Region leaders on the financial aspects of their business, such as reading their P&L, interpreting financial and operational metrics, etc.
  • Lead the capital budget development process and proactively manage capital spending.
  • Analyzes operating expense spend and identifies opportunities for cost savings. Review expenses with a skeptical eye for unusual, fraudulent, or wasteful transactions. Understand top vendor spend.
  • Support monthly P&L review process by reviewing actual results versus plan, understand and articulate monthly variance reports and analyze key performance drivers. Be proactive about sharing where you project the Region to finish the month with Region Leadership – avoid surprises.


FP&A and Company Focus:

  • Support FP&A Manager by providing timely Forecast updates, key business insights/happenings, and driving efficiencies in budgeting, forecasting and analysis deliverables.
  • Leverage Financial Analyst to complete reoccurring analysis/processes in order to drive consistency and efficiency across the team
  • Leverage existing technology/tools, foster partnerships and create new data models in order to deliver proactive, timely and insightful analysis and proposals.  
  • Interface with Sr. Leadership in order to support questions, requests, analysis surrounding the business.
  • Support the annual budget and periodic forecast process for your Region. Continuously update your Region forecast for the month and rest of year with the latest and best information sources available.
  • Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships across the organization

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Mid-level of experience in financial management. Ability to lead peers, direct reports and senior leaders through financial exercises and analysis.

Possess strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Adaptable and flexible to re-prioritize workload to accomplish high-priority tasks

Ability to influence senior leadership through financial interpretation and explanation.

Effective in communicating financial and operating issues to all levels of management.

Strong understanding of region operations and ability to identify down-stream impacts of strategic decisions.

Communications - Excellent in communicating financial information in both written and verbal forms and is able to work on many initiatives.  Ability to communicate results and recommendations to Senior Leadership.

Education and Experience Required:

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting

7-10 years of experience in financial analysis and reporting. Conducts or participates in complex financial analysis projects.  Technical – All Microsoft Office knowledge is a must with advanced level MS Excel skills are required
